Annual International Children's Festival    June 1, 2013, 10am-3pm     Ephrata, Lancaster County

For the 20^thyear in a row, Ten Thousand Villages Ephrata offers this lively, interactive festival to expose children to sights, sounds, tastes, and movement experienced by children in countries around the globe, and to foster appreciation for the skills of artisans whose handiworks are sold in Ten Thousand Villages stores.  Call ahead to be sure this is still scheduled.  Seems the page is showing an error right now, so we can't confirm online.

The Great PA FlavorFest      May 25-26, 2013, 11am-6pm     Manheim, Lancaster County

Okay, I will admit it. At first glance, I thought this was just about wine-tasting, with nothing to offer for kiddos.  Turns out, I was wrong!  This festival, held on the site of the Pa Renaissance Faire, is full of fun activities for the kids.  Visit the Children's Discovery Garden and take part in fun and creative crafts. Then stroll around the FlavorFest grounds to take part in Pony Rides, Face Painting, an Amazing Maze, and more!

Anything That Floats Regatta   June 1, 2013, 8am-1pm   Clearfield, Clearfield County

The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. "Anything that Floats" Boat Regatta" will be held Saturday, June 1 at 1PM at Lower Witmer Park.This is a man-made boat race across the Susquehanna River and back! Design and construct a vessel using any material other than a canoe, kayak or pedal boat. All boats must be human powered, and you ARE able to use a paddle. Rally up a team of up to four people and race from Lower Witmer Park across the river and back!

Dragon Boat Regatta     June 1, 2013, 8AM         Kelly Drive, Philadelphia

The yearly race has quickly become a Philadelphia tradition, as hundreds of dragon boat teams enter the watery den of the Schuylkill River to compete for fastest boat bragging rights. Although many people participate in the Regatta, many more come to watch, making the Saturday event a family-friendly festival with live entertainment, retail vendors and plenty of children’s activities.

Irish Festival                   June 2, 2013      1PM to 7PM                          Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Irish Festival returns to the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  This authentic and vibrant Irish Festival celebrates Irish culture through food, dancing and crafts.  The 14th annual Irish Festival is a family event that features well-known Irish musical performers. The gates will open at noon on Sunday and admission is free. Guests can enjoy the music of Jamison, Blackthorn and the Hooligans on the main stage.  Irish dance schools including Celtic Flame, Emerald Isle, Cummins, Coyle, Campbell, Rince Ri, McDade, Cara, McHugh, Christina Ryan Kilcoyne, Gibson, Timoney, 2nd St. Irish Society will perform throughout the day.  For a complete schedule, visit www.philadelphiastpatsparade.com.

Nittany Antique Machinery Spring Show    May 31-June 2, 2013       Centre Hall, Centre County

The 39th Annual Nittany Antique Machinery Spring Show will take place on the grounds of Penn's Cave in Centre Hall.  See antique tractors and farm equipment up close and in action. This show will feature 15-year-old and older garden tractors.

Que for the Troops      May 31-June 1, 2013       Levittown, Bucks County

The Annual Que For The Troops will be a National BBQ Cook-off, and a BBQ Brethren event.  Teams will spend the weekend barbecuing Pork, Chicken and Beef in the hopes to take home $6500 in cash & prizes and bragging rights amongst their peers. In addition there will be entertainment

Farm Animal Frolic          May 18-19, 25-26, 2013        Stroudsburg, Monroe County

In May Quiet Valley comes alive with new baby farm animals. Come and join this celebration of new life. This is a unique opportunity  for children (and grown-ups) to see and touch a variety of baby  farm animals. See baby chicks hatching from their eggs and feel the soft fur  of the baby bunnies. Memorial Day Carnival         May 23-27, 2013      Boalsburg, Centre County

This annual event in the "Birthplace of Memorial Day" features rides, games, and standard carnival fare. TThursday and Sunday are Wristband events -- buy a wristband for $13 and get unlimited rides from 6-10 pm on Thursday, and from 2-6 on Sunday.  And don't miss the parade on Saturday at 5 pm!

NEPA Bluegrass Festival          May 30-June 2, 2013     Tunkhannock, Wyoming County

The NEPA Bluegrass Festival features free camping, two stages, children's activities, and 20 bands!

New Castle Art Fest        May 25-26, 2013    New Castle, Lawrence County

What started out in 2009 in downtown New Castle has found a new home at the beautiful Cascade Park. The event includes a huge children's area with activities, chain saw artist Rick Cox, rocket sculpture display, pottery demonstrations, outdoor movies, live entertainment, and more.
