Roadside America                                                        Shartlesville, Berks County

Kids love tiny things. Teeny tiny play things. . like the miniatures that they have at Roadside America. My Aunt Karen told me about this one. My grandmother and grandfather would take the kids there to see the miniature village of life in america.

The exhibit fascinates not only because of its authentic, beautifully crafted miniatures, but because of the excitement of

continual movement. Swift trains glide through tunnels and over bridges … a tiny fountain bubbles in the miniature Zoo … a mountain trolley hustles through the woodland … an old-time grist mill slowly grinds grain for flour.

You can easily spend an hour on the self guided tour of 66 stops in the miniature village. Be sure to put it on your list of places to stop while in Berks County.

Admission:

  • Adults: $6.00
  • Children: 6 to 11 3 bucks
  • Under 6 is free

My kids loved it here. We do a day trip around thi s time of year. We stop at Ca
bela's, Roadside Amer ica, and finally Koziars. The three attractions m ake the
2 hour drive well worth the visit.
