Take the whole family to this community fair!  Great food, animals entertainment and exhibits. Looks like there are tractor pulls, chainsaw contests and the like!  If you have never seenj these contests, now is your chance, the kids will love it!  The theme this year is "A Century of Celebrating Fairs & Agriculture," reflecting the 100th anniversary of fairs in PA.

Anthracite Heritage Festival of the Arts     May 24-25, 2013     Shamokin, Northumberland County

The festival kicks off on Friday from 6-10 pm with a parade, luminary service, entertainment and fireworks. Historical trolley and carriage tours, exhibits, artisans and vendors line Market Street in Shamokin on Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. There will be pony rides, balloon artists, and children's clothesline art!

Memorial Day Carnival         May 23-27, 2013      Boalsburg, Centre County

This annual event in the "Birthplace of Memorial Day" features rides, games, and standard carnival fare. TThursday and Sunday are Wristband events -- buy a wristband for $13 and get unlimited rides from 6-10 pm on Thursday, and from 2-6 on Sunday.  And don't miss the parade on Saturday at 5 pm!

Strawberry Festival     June 1, 2013, 8am-2pm    Doylestown, Bucks County

The 32nd annual festival will feature fresh strawberries, homemade cakes, ice cream, strawberry smoothies made by a bicycle-powered blender, and lemonade. There will be pony rides from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., and children’s activities. There will also be live music, tours of the Granary, and "Speeder Rides"--although I am not quite sure what that means!!
