Independence Hall Philadelphia
Did you know that Independence Hall was not always known as Independence Hall? Yep, it was called "The State House" back in the day. When Philadelphia was the capital of the colony of Pennsylvania, Independence Hall was the seat of public business. It did not become known as "Independence Hall" for many years, after the Declaration of Independence was signed there on July 4, 1776. Now it is a National Landmark and part of the National Park Service. . . and a must see.
Walk-Up Tickets are available for FREE on the morning of your visit at the Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Market Street starting at 8:30 AM. The first tour starts at 9:00AM. You may request tickets for any available time, on the day of the visit. You have the greatest choice of times if you arrive between 8:30 and 10:30 AM.
