Expanding Your Horizons    November 13, 2010       University Park, Centre County
Expanding Your Horizons is an opportunity for young women to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) careers. EYH is a one-day event featuring a camp for girls in grades 7 and 8 and a conference for parents/guardians, teachers, and counselors with fun and exciting workshops that are developed by Penn State faculty and students, as well as, industry professionals. The camp/adult registration fee is $15/person and includes program material and lunch.

Immerse yourself in art in the Carnegie Museum of Art's galleries and studios, and connect with other creative kids your age. Have fun as you build artistic skills and take on the challenge of new ideas and materials. Show your artwork in the annual spring exhibition. Classes continue for two semesters and are enrolled by grade level, 5th through 9th grade.

The Everhart Museum’s Community Day features exhibition tours, hands-on activities and demonstrations inspired by the Museum’s exhibit For Every Season: Folk Art in Daily Life and Celebration. Join the Everhart and other community partners for an imagination-filled day! Activities are free with paid admission to the Museum and reservations are not required.

This fall the Everhart Museum and Keystone College team up to bring you hands-on instruction and lots of fun! Each class journeys through a different aspect of the Everhart’s exhibits and a new art medium, developmentally designed for the targeted age group. The cost is $6 for Everhart Museum members and $8 for non-members. Pre-registration is required.
Folk Art at Everhart Museum  Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26, 2010 4 - 5PM Tunkhannock, Wyoming County
Folk art is art for everyone! Join the Everhart Museum at the Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock for a series of four workshops based on the Everhart’s fall exhibit For Every Season, a multicultural look at folk art through the seasons of life. Children ages 5-12 will use story, movement, and visual art to learn and create on themed topics. October 26 session will focus on Pattern Building Play. Admission is free but pre-registration is required.
Early Explorers: Where Discovery Meets Learning     Oct 4, 11, 18, 25, 2010 Scranton, Lackawanna County
Join the Everhart Museum, the Lackawanna County Children’s Library, and area artists for museum-based whole-child learning in the arts and sciences. This program is free and suitable for Pre-K children (age 3-5). Pre-registration is required and groups are welcome. Early Explorers is funded in part by PNC Bank.
Comics & Cartoons Camp    July 26-30, 2010, 9 am - 12:30 pm       Lemont, Centre County
My son LOVED this camp at the Art Alliance of Central PA! Â Campers will learn how to create cartoon characters of their own, make a comic book, design a cartoon, and put it on a t-shirt to keep. Â Always a popular week -- will be available again August 2-6. Â For ages 7-12.
