This event, hosted by the Tuscarora Area Chamber of Commerce, features more than 100 crafters, artisans, culinary & local vendors, entertainment from community and school bands, dance schools, and blue grass, and... a Kids' Corner!  Kids' Corner includes sand art, pumpkin decorating, pony rides, games, and music!

Chile Pepper Food Festival                      Sep. 10-11, 2010, 9am-6pm                    Bowers, Berks County

 

Add a little spice to your life at the 15th annual Bowers Chile Pepper Food Festival!  Here you will find chile pepper foods, crafts, plants, and you can take an excursion through a real chile pepper field!  There will be contests, including a salsa contest, a chile pepper song contest, and a jalapeno pepper eating contest.  Music provided by the Acoustic Road Show both days.

Mushroom Festival               September 10-12, 2010         Kennett Square, Chester County

Celebrate the mushroom as well as the beauty, history and excitement of Southern Chester County with cooking demonstrations, farm tours, music, children’s rides and a variety of entertainment during this fun packed two-day Street Fair.  Admission is $2 for guests 12 years and older. Proceeds benefit non-profit community organizations through the Mushroom Festival Grant program.

Mountain Craft Days                Sep. 10-12, 2010, 10am-5pm         Somerset, Somerset County

 

Bring your family to an educational and fun event in a beautiful setting.  Mountain Craft Days includes craft artisans, musicians, and entertainers who will interpret the rich frontier heritage of Pennsylvania.  This festival is part of the Heritage Festival Weekend of Laurel Highlands.

 

Plantation Field Horse Trials & Country Fair  Sept 17-19, 2010  Coatesville, Chester County

Kids activities include face painting, moonbounce, petting zoo, and kid friendly fair food Many shops to peruse in the vendor area Beautiful 450 acrea site with 200 horses competing over the weekend. Lots for the whole family to see and do.  Demonstrations and exhibitions throughout the weekend including high jump competition for kids, bareback jumping competition, shetland pony races , parade of Cheshire Fox Hounds and more.

Fabulous 1890's Weekend             September  24-25, 2010       Mansfield, Tioga County

Oh this looks so cool. I want to go!  Fabulous 1890's Weekend revolves around the fact that the world’s first night football game was played by Mansfield University in Smythe Park on September 28, 1892. (how is that for football trivia?) There is a parade, entertainment, food, crafts, activites, balloon rides, 1890's football game re-enactment,  football memorabelia,  fireworks and more.  Admission is $3 per person.

Pie Festival                       Sep. 8, 2010, 7:30 pm                          Butler, Butler County

 

Oh, this brings back memories.... I grew up in Butler, and the Pie Festival was an event we never missed, ever!  The Golden Tornado Marching Band will perform and the cheerleaders & football team will be introduced.  And you get pie and ice cream!

Oktoberfest                September 25-26, 2010              Adamstown, Lancaster County

Celebrate German traditions in PA Dutch Country. Opening weekend  for Oktoberfest in Lancaster County is Saturday September 25th with German music, by Alex Meixner, food, beer, and events for the whole family. Now, this is held at Stoudts Beer in Adamstown, but from what I hear, there are plenty of families enjoying the music, entertainment, food and games.  Anyone been to this?
